Last night we celebrated Thanksgiving with some really good fusion Chinese at Shanghai Chic in M\u00f6venpick Ibn Batuta Gate.\u00a0Shanghai Chic offers an Unlimited Tasting Night from Wednesday to Friday which is priced at AED 295 with soft drinks and AED 325 with house beverages.
\nThe concept of this tasting night is quite interesting. You can sample anything off the menu which is served in an individual portion, and if you like it, you can order it as many times as you want. Obviously, since we wanted to take in as many flavors as we could, we tried out most of the items from their menu while also ordering doubles of a couple of them.<\/p>\n

Here’s a glimpse of the appetizers and dumplings we sampled.<\/p>\n

This was one of the dishes we ordered twice at the Unlimited Tasting Night in Shanghai Chic at M\u00f6venpick Ibn Batuta Gate.
\nThe hot and sour soup, as the name suggests offered the classic spicy flavor and was dotted with silken tofu.\u00a0Hot, both in terms of spice and temperature levels, this soup gave us a warm start.<\/p>\n

This crispy and crunchy looking starter is the Almond Chicken wrapped in bean curd skin threads and topped with togarashi mayo.
\nSlightly spicy, it offered\u00a0a good mix of textures with its crunchy exterior and delicate almond flavored meat.<\/p>\n

Nothing’s complete without some dynamite. These crispy Dynamite Chicken pieces were\u00a0also a part of the Asian Chic Appetizers at Shanghai Chic’s Unlimited Tasting Night.\u00a0Topped with crunchy sprouts and a spicy dynamite sauce, the bite sized pieces were\u00a0definitely worth a repeat. Only our portion size was massive so we stuck to one order.\u00a0Don’t miss the artistic serving plate, presenting the dish in a Morocco meets Shanghai style. Adds the Ibn Batuta touch to this Chinese fusion restaurant.<\/p>\n

We went all out with the Dim Sum Delicacies section at Shanghai Chic’s Unlimited Tasting Night. These prawn dumplings came\u00a0dressed as cute little fishes and pretty garnishes of soy, wasabi and spicy sauces on the plate.\u00a0Loved the detail on the faux fins and tails of this steamed variety.<\/p>\n
