We started off with shots of Chatti Wali Lassi Pede De Naal.
Now it’s not usually served in such small quantities, but we were offered a welcome portion simply because one glass of this scrumptious shake featuring blended solid pedas flavored with saffron will keep you full for an entire evening (entire day if you were me). Creamy and gritty at the same time, this lassi is definitely sweet and a must have if you’re a fan of pedas.

When I started blogging, I was worried what I’d do if I was offered fish. I hated fish. But clearly that is history.
After having tried so many versions of the Amritsari Macchi, I must say, I’ve become pro at it. And yes, I love this dish. This aromatic variety at Punjabi by Nature came with extremely tender fish pieces dipped in ajwain (caraway) and besan (gram flour) batter and fried in the most authentic Punjabi style using mustard oil, or as I would to call, sarson da tel. You’ll have to stop me or I’ll go on talking about the fish. Hot off the fryer and melt in the mouth pieces, these are something that will make me want to go again and again and again.

These were not only a surprise, but an absolute delight as well. Soft, fresh and creamy, with a generous sprinkle of chat masala on top, the Achari Paneer Tikka featured thymol flavored cottage cheese pieces baked to perfected in tandoor style. Just one bite into this cheesy deliciousness combined with the masala magic and trust me you’ll be wanting more.

There’s no way you can go to a Punjabi restaurant and not have kukkad!
The highly recommended Bhatti Da Murg comes fresh off the tandoor marinated in a special bhatti masala with mustard oil. Tender and roasted to perfection, this one’s a good dish to try. Next time, I’ll opt for the Amritsari Chicken Tikka or the Chicken Tikka platter. Nice to give all the kukkads a try, no?

Oh no! Just posting this photo has increased my craving for these Bhune Aloo Di Chaat by 100 times.
I don’t think there’s any dish at Punjabi by Nature that I cannot eat all day. Especially these. In one word, they are the perfect representation of chatpata. The perfect combination of crispy potato cubes marinated in mint and tamarind chutney with lots of spices and of course chest masala, these bites were just irresistible. I had to hit my fellow diner’s hand twice to stop him from eating these before I could click a picture. We really couldn’t stop eating these.
Definitely ordering this dish along with the Amritsari Macchi next time I’m there.

It was time for something that would cool off all that spice we had just experienced. One of my top favorites, the Ambh is Panna is a mango cooler with a slightly creamy texture. You can call it a cross between a mango juice and a lemonade. It has the flavor of the former and the consistency of the latter. This one acted like a good palate cleanser and got us all set for the mains. Plus it was accompanied by was beautifully served in copper mugs.

Saagwala Gosht, our gravy option for the main course came with boneless lamb pieces cooked with creamed spinach and spiced with cumin and red chillies. The lamb was smooth as butter and absolutely melt in the mouth. We tried this mutton dish with the classic Tandoori Roti and the garlicky Lasooni Naan.

Here’s my absolutely favorite rice dish!
There are very few restaurants out there that can do a good biryani. I know this because I have been there, tried that. And trust me when I say this, Punjabi By Nature does a great biryani.
Their version of this chicken and rice delicacy is called Murg Tikka Biryani and comes alongside a generous serving of raita. The boneless chicken prices are basted in fragrant biryani spices and cooked to tender perfection amidst the long grain basmati. Totally, truly Punjabi. This is definitely a must have biryani. Go try it. Go try it now. Just order it online on Zomato!

Like everything else should be, the ending to this truly Punjabi by Nature journey was a sweet one. The classic and my most favorite Ras Malai came with a poached cottage cheese dumpling soakedb in kesar elaichi (saffron and cardamom) milk. This was just a tasting portion and we were so stuffed so we asked for just one piece. You can enjoy more of this soft mushy goodness when you visit Punjabi by Nature.
