Seafood heaven at Day & Night Restaurant in Mercure Dubai
Seafood lovers rejoice! There’s a seafood haven right in the heart of New Dubai that takes place every Friday at the Day & Night restaurant in Mercure Dubai Hotel.
Offering everything seafood, the restaurant is decked up to look like a sailor’s lair, what with all the lighthouse, ship wheel and seashell accents, staff dressed up in sailor suits and a pirate at the welcome desk too!
Shellfish Station
To begin with, we steered towards the shellfish station which included poached versions of crabs, lobsters and shrimps in addition to some lovely mussels.
Tempted enough? Make your reservation for the seafood night for only AED 148 per person. For a little extra you can also enjoy some shisha on their outdoor deck.
Starters, Sushi & Sashimi
Here is a selection of seafood based starters, mains, sushi and sashimi from the Seafood Night at Mercure Dubai Hotel. Right from tuna bites, tartare and ceviche, to mains that included the classic seafood paella and creamy seafood pesto pasta, along with a selection of sushi rolls, this seafood buffet is every seafood lover’s delight.
My favorite was the pasta and shrimp tempura rolls.
Fish Station
The seafood night in Day and Night restaurant at Mercure Dubai Hotel offers an impressive selection of fish. The interesting fact behind these fish is their source. We got talking to the executive chef at the hotel – Chef Imran, and found out that he himself makes a 5 hour visit to the fish market every Friday morning to pick and choose the best and freshest catch, and brings them over to the restaurant to prepare the spread for the evening.
In fact, all the seafood at the restaurant is fresh – nothing frozen. Now that’s something that definitely sets this restaurant a class apart.
For our dinner, we chose to go with two king fish fillets that were marinated in a spicy tandoori mix and fire grilled to a perfectly crusty outside.

Summary
For a non-fish eater like me, this place was quite a challenge. I literally had to survive on potatoes and rice. But if you really love seafood, then this place has got everything you could ask for, and at a very reasonable price. Check this one out for sure!
