Tanatan | Indian Restaurant Review by Dubai Blogger Rashida

Tanatan | Secret Indian Gastropub in Regent Palace

Gorgeous lanterns, copper bells, decked up walls and unfinished look chairs. At the first instance, Tanatan almost feels like you’re walking into an antique shop. The restaurant with its expanse interiors, a stage set up for live music and a varied menu, is ideal for a peppy night out, especially if it’s a weekend.

Paan Ki Shaan & Chai on a High

We started off with these two recommended drinks – Paan ki Shaan and Chai on a High. While the former had a nice paan gulkand flavor to it the latter felt like sweet water. It was quite bland in taste and had no flavor to it at all.

Dal Vadai Chatar Patar

Crispy out, these classic dal vadai fritters are served in fusion style over a spoonful of hummus. Love their crunch and the smooth blend of chickpeas. Also the side salad makes a great accompaniment.

Kumbh Khazana

What’s better than stuffed mushrooms? A plate full of them! These were simply fab. The filling was creamy and the mushrooms had a nice bite to them.

Murgh Bharwan Lahori

Chicken mince stuffed inside boneless chicken breast makes this one a great choice for chicken lover. Quite filling, this starter is good to share between two.

Dal Khichdi with Schezwan

Quite the fusion, this comforting dal rice dish came with a spicy schezwan kick. Simply perfect.

Sunny Side Up Appam with Chicken Sukha

This was one of my favorites from Tanatan. A South Indian inspiration, the spices in the chicken were just perfect and they paired spot on with the Appam. We actually ended up having two more appams with the chicken.

#RashidaReviews

I loved the food at Tanatan, but the drinks were sort of a disappointment. When it comes to service, the staff were not so well versed in recommending dishes from the menu either. For food, I’d recommend dal khichdi and chicken sukha. And their appams are the best!
